Volunteer Roles
Café Assistant
We have a variety of roles in the café from serving our lovely customers to helping with washing up and the end of day close up & clean.
It's a really rewarding role and a great way to see firsthand the difference we're making as you'll be working alongside the beneficiaries we're supporting.
Event Speaker
We're passionate about raising awareness of modern slavery and human trafficking. So many people don't realise that sadly slavery is still a huge issue in the modern world.
Educating people plays such a huge part in tackling the issue as victims are rescued when people know how to spot the signs of slavery and trafficking.
Here at Just-Ice we love to speak at community events about our work and the issue of modern slavery.
If you're enthusiastic and passionate we'd love you to join our team of event speakers. Full training will be given and we won't throw you in at the deep end!
Informal Tutor
Do you have a passion for teaching?
During their time at Just-Ice our beneficiaries learn new skills, which builds their confidence and helps them to find future employment. It is so empowering for these people to know they're now in control of their own destiny.
We're looking for patient and gentle people to join our support team and help with English as a Second Language tuition, basic digital skills tuition, and careers skills such as CV writing, job research and job application writing.
No previous experience is necessary. We can guarantee you have skills, patience and knowledge to offer!
Duke of Edinburgh
& Work Experience
We are proud to support the Duke of Edinburgh scheme and help young people gain experience in the workplace.
Volunteering at Just-Ice is a great way to learn new skills and work towards your silver or gold Duke of Edinburgh Award as part of a friendly team.
Shifts are around 1.5 hours long on a weeknight after school or college, helping tidy and clean the cafe at the end of the day.
What We Offer You
We're so grateful to all of our fabulous volunteers!
As a thank you, all volunteers are entitled to a free hot drink and a free ice cream or snack during their shift.
Volunteering at Just-Ice is a great way to gain experience in the hospitality sector and learn new skills, all in a sympathetic and friendly workplace.
Full training is provided for all our roles. We also run regular food hygiene and safety awareness courses, for which a certificate is awarded on successful completion.
